John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, February 18, visited two victims of the terrorist attack in Burkina Faso who are currently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.

The injured were part of a group of Ghanaian tomato traders travelling in a truck that was ambushed by armed assailants. The attackers reportedly separated the men, killed several of them, and set the vehicle on fire.
President Mahama, accompanied by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, expressed his sympathy to the survivors and assured them that the government would cover their medical expenses.

The President, who had been in Takoradi earlier in the morning on an official assignment, went straight to the hospital immediately after his flight landed to speak with the victims and obtain first-hand information about the tragic incident.
Seven Ghanaians who lost their lives in the incident have since been buried, while the survivors have been safely transported home by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
