John Dramani Mahama has extended warm wishes to Ghanaians as the holy month of Ramadan commences.
In a message issued on Friday, February 20, he and his wife, Lordina Mahama, conveyed their best wishes to Muslims nationwide for a spiritually rewarding and blessed Ramadan.

In his statement, President Mahama described Ramadan as “a special time — a month of reflection, renewal, and unity as one community.”
He urged Muslims observing the fast to focus on purifying their hearts and strengthening their iman, while praying for good health, inner peace, and abundant mercy throughout the sacred month.
The former president highlighted the values of compassion, generosity, and self-discipline as central to Ramadan.
He explained that although fasting requires abstaining from food and drink, the true spirit of the month is reflected in acts of kindness, especially toward the less privileged.
President Mahama further encouraged Ghanaians to use the period to promote unity, love, and harmony within their communities.
“Let us reinforce the bonds that unite us and deepen our spirit of togetherness across our beloved nation,” he stated.
In concluding his Ramadan message, President Mahama stated, “From my family, we wish you a spiritually rewarding and blessed Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak! May Allah accept your worship.”
His remarks come as Muslims across Ghana prepare to commence the 30-day period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.
