Kim Lars Bjorkegren names Ghana women’s national football team squad with six fresh faces for Pink Ladies Cup.

Ghana women’s national football team head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has unveiled his squad for the upcoming Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates, injecting fresh energy into the team with six new players earning their maiden senior national call-ups on the back of impressive club performances.

Turkey-based goalkeeper Rose Baah of Giresun Sanayispor, Ampem Darkoa Ladies pair Diana Amoako and Ajegipina Zakaria, as well as Alexander Emefa Tay, Sharon Sampson, and Helen Alormenu are among the promising talents selected.

Baah has been a key figure for her club this season, while Amoako — fresh from the Ghana women’s national under-20 football team World Cup qualifiers against South Africa women’s national football team — has been instrumental in anchoring Ampem Darkoa’s defence.

Ghana women’s national football team have been handed a challenging group-stage draw against Hong Kong women’s national football team, Russia women’s national football team, and Tanzania women’s national football team when the Pink Ladies Cup kicks off on February 28 in the United Arab Emirates, setting the stage for high-stakes competition.

Beyond competing for silverware, the four-nation tournament will also serve as vital preparation for Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month, helping the team fine-tune its strategy ahead of the continental showdown.
