According to a statement issued by the Bono Regional Police Command on March 21, 2026, the operation was carried out in the early hours of the day as part of efforts to clamp down on criminal activities and rid the area of illegal arms.

The joint team, which included personnel from the 3rd Infantry Battalion, retrieved eight assorted weapons during the exercise. Items seized included pump-action guns, a Baikal gun, locally manufactured firearms, and a large cache of ammunition.

Other exhibits recovered comprised machetes, bayonets, clubs, knives, military-style jackets, body armour, mobile phones, and motorbikes, as well as tools and items suspected to be linked to criminal activities.

The authorities indicated that steps are underway to process the suspects for prosecution.
