Ghana Sack Otto Addo Ahead of 2026 World Cup

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the dismissal of Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars, Ghana’s senior national team.

The former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach departs his role following Ghana’s defeats in their pre–World Cup friendly matches against Austria and Germany in March.

In a statement confirming the decision, the GFA said: *“The Ghana Football Association has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team, Otto Addo, with immediate effect.

The Association sincerely thanks Otto Addo for his contributions to the team and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours.”*

The FA added that it will, in due course, outline a new technical direction for the Black Stars.

Addo’s exit represents another major change within the team’s technical setup as Ghana continues its preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
