
The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with a viral video in which he allegedly issued threats against a High Court judge, Patricia Quansah.
The suspect, John Kwabena Owusu Ansah, was apprehended at Antoakrom in the Ashanti Region on March 27, 2026, following what police described as an intelligence-led operation.
In a statement released on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Police said the arrest was carried out by officers from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team after a period of monitoring and investigations.

According to the statement, the viral video contained threats, abusive language, and allegations accusing Justice Quansah of criminal conduct.
Police noted that the content raised serious concerns regarding the safety of the judge and the integrity of the Judiciary.
The statement further indicated that the case is being handled under the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772).
These laws provide sanctions for unlawful online content, including fines, licence revocations, and possible criminal prosecution.
Mr Ansah is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court.
