A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics suggests a tightening race for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 elections.
The poll, released on Monday, April 13, 2026, by the firm’s Executive Director, Mussa Dankwah, indicates that Johnson Asiedu Nketia continues to lead the party’s “top-of-the-mind” preference survey. However, his margin has narrowed within a week, dropping from a 16-point lead in the first round to 10 points in the latest findings, signalling increasing competition.

In the second round of polling, Asiedu Nketia polled 29 percent, followed by Cassiel Ato Forson with 19 percent, while Haruna Iddrisu recorded 11 percent. Julius Debrah and Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang each polled 8 percent.
The survey further shows that 24 percent of respondents remain undecided, suggesting the contest is still wide open.
In the earlier round, Asiedu Nketia had 28 percent support, while a significantly larger 36 percent of respondents were undecided.

The findings indicate that although he remains in front, the gap is closing as interest in the race builds and uncertainty remains over who will officially contest.
