Mahama Reshuffles Cabinet, Appoints Gilbert Adjei to Defence and Zanetor to Environment

President John Dramani Mahama has announced a ministerial reshuffle, reassigning the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, to serve as Minister for Defence.

In a statement issued by the Presidency, the President said the changes had been submitted to Parliament through the Speaker in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

As part of the reshuffle, Ahmed Ibrahim, Member of Parliament, has been reassigned from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs to head the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.

President Mahama has also nominated Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament, as Minister-designate for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.

In addition, Mahama Ayariga has been nominated as Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

The appointments and nominations are subject to parliamentary approval before the ministers can officially assume their new roles.
