Nana Agradaa: My time in prison transformed my faith and ministry

Former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist Nana Agradaa, known in private life as Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, has revealed that her time in prison significantly transformed her spiritual life, bringing her closer to God and deepening her faith.

Addressing a church congregation on Sunday, March 22, she described her period in custody as a life-changing experience that reshaped her outlook and deepened her sense of purpose.

“I was sent to prison, but today I can say to the glory of God that I do not regret it. What God has given me through this journey is invaluable and cannot be bought with money,” she told worshippers.

According to her, the experience has renewed her spiritual strength and reinforced her commitment to her evangelical work. She added that she now feels more empowered to continue her ministry with a clearer sense of direction.

Nana Agradaa was recently released from Nsawam Prison after serving eight months in custody, following a revision of her sentence.

She was initially sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment on July 3, 2025, after being convicted of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement. However, her legal team successfully challenged the ruling on appeal, arguing that the sentence was excessive.

The Amasaman High Court subsequently reduced the sentence to 12 calendar months, describing the earlier punishment as unduly harsh.

Her release came after serving two-thirds of the revised sentence, in line with Ghana’s remission regulations.

Despite the ordeal, Nana Agradaa insists the experience has marked a turning point in her life, strengthening both her faith and her resolve to continue her ministry.
