NDC Slams Afenyo-Markin’s ‘Nobody’ Remark on Nana Yaa Jantuah, Demands Apology

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticised comments made by the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, describing former Convention People’s Party (CPP) General Secretary, Nana Yaa Jantuah, as “nobody.”

The party says the remark was disrespectful and unacceptable, insisting that Nana Yaa Jantuah has made significant contributions to Ghana’s political and public discourse over the years.

According to the NDC, political differences should not result in personal attacks or attempts to undermine the reputation of individuals who have served the country in various capacities.

The party has therefore called on Afenyo-Markin to publicly apologise to Nana Yaa Jantuah, arguing that his comments fell short of the standards expected of a national leader and a Member of Parliament.

The NDC further urged political leaders to engage in respectful and issue-based debates that promote national unity and strengthen Ghana’s democratic institutions.

The demand for an apology comes amid growing public discussion over the Minority Leader’s remarks, with political observers and members of the public expressing differing views on the controversy.
