The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the completion of its selection process for the first batch of recruits, with a total of 2,000 individuals set to begin training under a nationwide enlistment exercise.
In a statement issued by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, the successful applicants have been directed to report to their respective regional selection centres across all 16 regions on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. to collect their appointment letters and prospectus.
The Armed Forces further indicated that this group represents the first of four batches scheduled to undergo training as part of the recruitment programme.
The statement also assured applicants who were deferred due to treatable medical conditions during the screening process to seek the necessary medical attention, noting that they would be reconsidered at a later stage at no additional cost.
It further disclosed that the first batch includes 18 individuals who were injured during last year’s El-Wak Stadium stampede, as well as five others sponsored by families of victims of the tragedy, in recognition of the incident.
The Military also expressed its appreciation to all 16 Regional Administrations for their support in decentralising the recruitment process, in line with government policy.
The statement also urged remaining applicants to remain patient, assuring them that subsequent selections would be made from a pool of high-performing candidates. It added that special consideration would be given to individuals from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region who played a role in rescue efforts following last year’s helicopter crash.
