
Six men have been arrested by the police in Agona Swedru in the Central Region for allegedly posing as National Security operatives and carrying out an unauthorized operation at a manufacturing company.
According to police reports, the suspects reportedly stormed the S.I. Jun Manufacturing Company Limited at Agona Akwakwa, near Mankrong Nkwanta, in a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle. They were said to have been dressed in military and Immigration Service uniforms while claiming to be officials of National Security.
Upon entering the facility, the group allegedly handcuffed and harassed three Chinese nationals who were working at the company, causing panic among staff.
A distress call was made to the police, who swiftly responded to the scene. Officers reportedly found the victims restrained and immediately arrested the six suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Agyemang Benjamin, Mahama Iddrisu, Dawuda Seidu, Ofori Isaac, Adom Bills, Hayford Boafo, and Ato Mchenry. They are currently being held at the Agona Swedru District Police Headquarters, where they are assisting with investigations.
Security agencies, including the Military Police, Immigration Service, and National Security Secretariat, have been contacted to verify whether the suspects have any legitimate affiliation with the institutions they allegedly impersonated.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and whether the suspects are linked to other similar operations.
