Electricity and water tariffs will decrease by 4.81% and 3.06% respectively starting April 1.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission has announced a reduction in utility tariffs for the second quarter of 2026.

In a statement, the Commission revealed that electricity tariffs will be reduced by 4.81 percent, while water tariffs will decrease by 3.06 percent. The revised rates will take effect from April 1, 2026.

According to the Commission, the downward adjustment forms part of its regular quarterly review of utility tariffs.

According to the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, the review forms part of its mandate to carry out periodic tariff adjustments to reflect changes in the operational conditions of utility service providers.

The Commission explained that its quarterly tariff review mechanism allows it to track and incorporate fluctuations in key factors that affect the cost of delivering electricity and water services.
