John Dramani Mahama Welcomes Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for Three-Day State Visit

President John Dramani Mahama has officially welcomed the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, to Ghana for a three-day state visit scheduled from April 1 to April 3, 2026.

The Zimbabwean leader was received in Accra with full military honours, signaling the commencement of a visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

A series of high-level engagements have been outlined for the visit, including a state banquet in honour of President Mnangagwa, a private tête-à-tête between the two leaders, and expanded bilateral talks involving their respective delegations. These discussions are expected to focus on deepening cooperation in key sectors such as trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, and sanitation, as well as joint strategies to tackle corruption and unemployment.

The visit will also see the signing of several key Memoranda of Understanding, intended to formalise partnerships and boost collaboration across multiple areas of mutual interest.

The state visit highlights the enduring relationship between Ghana and Zimbabwe, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and promoting sustainable development.
