Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has declared that the Ghana national football team are no longer intimidated by elite opponents as they gear up for a high-profile international friendly against Germany national football team.
Speaking at a fundraiser ahead of Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Okraku highlighted a major shift in the team’s mentality under head coach Otto Addo.
According to him, while a fixture against a powerhouse like Germany may have sparked fear in the past, the current squad is now driven by confidence, discipline, and tactical maturity.
“A few years ago, if you heard a fixture like Ghana versus Germany, you’d be afraid,” Okraku said. “But today, we are very confident. The intangible assets that have been put together by Coach Addo and his team will make Ghana proud.”

The friendly match, scheduled for March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart, is expected to serve as a crucial test for the Black Stars following their qualification for the World Cup.
Ghana has been drawn into a challenging Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team, and Panama national football team. However, Okraku dismissed any notion of Ghana being underdogs, insisting that the team approaches the tournament with belief and determination.
“We fear no foe,” he affirmed.
