The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has criticized the incumbent Member of Parliament, Lydia Alhassan, for distributing food to voters waiting in a queue.
Some Electoral Commission officials and security personnel supervising the polling process at the station were also given food packs.
Mr Dumelo who was enraged by the MP’s action demanded answers in an interview with PrimeMax Tvcorrespondent, Patrick Quophi Obosu
“Why are you sharing food with people in the queue? Why are you doing that? Does it mean we can’t share food too? We can also do the same, but let’s respect the rules of the Electoral Commission. Don’t share anything with people in the queue who haven’t voted yet. And you’re sharing food, and we don’t even know what’s in it. You’re giving it to people who haven’t voted yet. What kind of behavior is this?” he questioned.
Why? Do they think we can’t do it? We can do the same and even worse. They shouldn’t even try us,” he warned.
