Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is the only Ghana Premier League player included in Ghana’s 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 33-year-old shot-stopper is among three goalkeepers selected by Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz. He is joined by Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang, with Ati-Zigi set to make his second World Cup appearance after featuring at the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
Ajax Amsterdam youth goalkeeper Paul Reverson and Hearts of Oak’s Solomon Agbasi have been excluded from the final squad after initially making the 28-man provisional list.
In other changes, veteran defender Alexander Djiku has been ruled out due to injury, with Derrick Luckassen called up to replace him.
AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has also been left out after failing to recover from injury, ending his hopes of a second World Cup appearance.
Derrick Luckassen, 30, who was born in the Netherlands to a Ghanaian parent, recently switched his international allegiance to Ghana. His first World Cup call-up follows a successful season in which he helped Pafos win the Cypriot league title.
