The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kpone-Katamanso, Hon. Samuel Tetteh Kwashie Morton, and the MCE for Ashaiman, Hon. Freeman Tsekpo, in collaboration with the Tulaku Police Command and other security agencies, have issued a strong directive ordering cattle owners and sellers operating along the Tulaku–Ashaiman stretch of the Tema–Akosombo Road to vacate the area immediately.
According to the directive, all cattle and related trading activities occupying the roadside must be removed by the stated deadline. Authorities have warned that any cattle found in the area after the deadline will be seized, and appropriate sanctions will be applied against their owners.

Reports indicate that cattle sellers moved into the area during the recent Eid celebrations, following a government-led demolition exercise that cleared structures and encroachments along parts of the road corridor. The exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to make way for the Tema–Akosombo Road construction project, which is expected to improve transportation, road safety, and economic activity along the Greater Accra and Eastern corridor.
The joint enforcement action by the two municipal assemblies highlights their commitment to ensuring that the road project proceeds without obstruction while safeguarding public safety. Residents and motorists have previously raised concerns about stray cattle along the stretch, which have created traffic hazards and increased the risk of road accidents.

Both MCEs emphasized the need for law, order, and responsible use of public spaces, stressing that government infrastructure projects are critical to national development and must not be undermined by unauthorized activities.
The assemblies have therefore urged all affected cattle owners to cooperate fully and relocate their animals to approved locations to avoid penalties or loss of livestock.
This enforcement exercise forms part of a broader government effort to decongest major road corridors, enhance sanitation, improve safety, and ensure the successful completion of the Tema–Akosombo Road project for the benefit of all users.
